Chicken Riding Shotgun During Wisconsin DUI Arrest

A Wisconsin driver pulled over for drunk driving had a live chicken for a passenger.

When I see stories like this, I sometimes have trouble believing it's real. The situation sounds more like the subject of a joke and I'm just waiting for the punchline.

According to mystateline.com,

"Police had to think the 911 caller was mistaken when they called to report a reckless driver. There’s a guy behind us and he’s driving really reckless but he has a hawk in his car. Rather than a hawk, it was a brown chicken. According to the officer’s report, besides numerous open cans of beer, he did notice a live chicken that was fluttering around the inside of the vehicle."

"It’s the third drunk-driving arrest for the suspect, but as far as they know, the first involving poultry."
