Winter in Chicago is a whole different level of savage.

From the cold, to the snow, to the wind, it's some intense weather. So there's some issues that arise during winter months when it comes to street parking. If you have a garage or a designated parking lot you park in, consider yourself blessed. Because you could be living in Chicago participating in the #frozenpantschallenge to call dibs on your street parking.

First things first, when it comes to street parking, during winter - the game of dibs is VERY real. From chairs, to toys, to garbage bins, Chicagoans put out whatever they can on the street to call dibs on their spot when it's going to snow.

But when it gets REALLY cold, people get even more creative to secure their spot. Hence - the #FrozenPantsChallenge.

That picture is seriously winter in Chicago in a nut shell. But why let the fun stop there? That's the mood Brookfield Zoo had when they saw the trend.

When the #polarvortex calls for some fun . Which animal looks the most curious? #frozenpantschallenge

So if you're going to Chicago any time soon and you see a pair of pants standing up on their own in the middle of the street, don't be alarmed. It's just Chicagoans trying their best to embrace negative temperatures and street parking all in one.

Steve Shannon actually froze a pair of his jeans a few years back!
