Brilliant Hack for Catching a Game Ball at Wrigley Field This Summer
You thought it would cost hundreds of dollars to get an official game ball at Chicago's famed Wrigley Field. Here's how to do it and it won't cost you a penny.
What's the Best Wrigley Field Baseball Game Souvenir
While every Major League Baseball stadium in America has a shop (or 7) for souvenirs, no amount of money in the world can buy you the most sought-after souvenir of them all.
No souvenir bought in a store can top the one you can catch in the bleachers in the outfield. Catching a home run ball hit by one of your team's players is, in my opinion, one of the absolute best souvenirs ever.
We've been fortunate to have a couple of outfielders toss balls into the stands, and through the kindness of the fans that caught them, were given to our young children.
The one thing that stands in the way of catching one of these ourselves, is the location of our seats. You can't predict where it will happen, at least I didn't think you could, until now.
This Baseball Souvenir Hack is a Home Run
In a TikTok video that's already been viewed over 3.5 million times, a Chicago Cubs fan is standing outside Wrigley Field at the intersection of Waveland and Kenmore Avenues catching souvenir home runs like a boss.
Standing at the ready, 440 feet from home plate, with a glove and incredible reaction time, @cubsballhawk has an abundance of the treasured home run ball souvenirs.
[@amano_22] Nobody stands a chance lmao. Man got the crosswalk on lock
[@Apple User534675456] This guys actually doing a public service. Imagine how many people would get hit in the head
My wife and I sat in the bleachers the last time the Brewers were in town and we sat in the top row of the bleachers. This guy must've been somewhere else that day because I watched a ball sail out of Wrigley Field and almost hit someone on the sidewalk. I kind of agree with TikTok user, @blunewjs's comment.
hol up, is this not one of the most dangerous crosswalks in America?!
Looking at some of the other videos that @cubsballhawk has shared, it seems he spends most of his time catching these bombs during batting practice, which would give you many more opportunities to catch one, but his skills are still very impressive.
The best souvenir from a Major League Baseball game, in my opinion, is an actual ball signed in front of you by your favorite players and handed right to you. I'm not a betting man but I'd guess the odds of this happening are pretty slim.
