Madden NFL 18 Takes a Chance on a Longshot [Preview]
The annual release schedule for Madden NFL has typically left the development team at EA Sports with little room for improvements beyond technical adjustments to the way we play on the gridiron. However, with Madden NFL 18, the game isn't just switching engines from the sports-focused Ignite to the DICE-developed Frostbite, it's also taking some calculated risks with new gameplay elements. As much as the Madden-head in me is interested in the physics and football-related improvements Frostbite is bringing, it's the new single-player story mode that has my attention.

Topps Introduces On-Demand ‘Star Wars’ Trading Card Series Leading Into ‘Rogue One’
Print on-demand trading cards have been a rather nice hit for Topps, particularly as it pertains to baseball and soccer. The Topps Now series has offered daily trading cards based on the entire season, spotlighting big events in the major leagues all season long. The limited run cards have done so well for Topps, this year we saw the company branch out into sets for AMC's Preacher and the WWE, as well as new sets for AMC's The Walking Dead.
As massive as those properties are in the pop culture collective, they pale in comparison to the power of Star Wars. Of course, Star Wars doesn't update as frequently as sports or television shows like those on AMC. Rather than focus on events as they're unfolding, the all-new Star Wars: Rogue One Mission Briefing Monday sets offer a glimpse into characters we've never seen or met before.
Hasbro’s Star Wars Figures Bring Darth Vader Back in Black [NYCC 2016]
Just one week after the special midnight events surrounding the release of Star Wars: Rogue One toys and merchandise, Hasbro's Star Wars Black team was on hand at New York Comic Con to give a glimpse into the future of the line. All eyes are on the upcoming film, and that's where the dominant portion of the new reveals were focused. After the whirlwind of new figures shown off at San Diego Comic-Con and Star Wars Celebration, it's a wonder Hasbro had anything new to show at all. It's a good thing there were a few more tricks up those sleeves.

Sure this Darth Vader won't actually be able to Force Choke anyone that's giving you the business, but you can pretend he is. That's close enough, right?
