Are You Ready For The Great Canadian Invasion of Rockford?

Canadian geese are starting their infestation of Rockford.

The first day of Spring is this week.

I can't help but get excited because that means many fun outdoor activities will be starting soon. After a long winter, that puts a smile on my face.

Of course, like anything else, there are some negatives to better weather.

It means the "Great Canadian Invasion of Rockford." Thousands of geese come to our area and it's not a good thing.

I was on the exit from Spring Creek Road to North 2nd Street and there was a traffic back-up. It was caused by a group of Canadian geese standing in the middle of the ramp and they wouldn't move.

The other day, my friend was jogging down the bike path. He slipped on "goose poop" and twisted his ankle.

These birds are a menace to society but unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about them.

Warning, the Canadian geese are here and there are many more on the way.
