All-American Women’s Baseball Team: Rockford Peaches

Yesterday I stopped by Rockford Art Deli in downtown Rockford, such an amazing locally owned business. As I was talking with the owner Jarrod I was checking out all the great shirts they produce.

Even though I have seen this certain shirt a few times, I kept going back to the "Rockford Peaches" shirt. The fact that Rockford had a Professional Women's Baseball Team and that a Tom Hanks movie was based after it still makes me smile. Such history and so many great stories about this famed all-women baseball team from the 1940's.

According to chrisdunmire.com not only is this an entertaining sports story, but a moving story about life around the time of World War II.

The history AND future of Rockford is rich, enjoy it.
