A Michigan man is running across the United States in tribute to Forrest Gump.

Barclay Oudersluys who is 23 and from Ann Arbor, Michigan is running across the United States, just like Forrest Gump did.

WGN reports the only difference, is that Forrest Gump ran one side of the country to the other end in three years, two months, 14 days and 16 hours. Barclay wants to do it in 100 days or less.

Barclay is running the same path, from Santa Monica Pier to Rockland, Maine, just like Forrest Gump.

He is 63 days into his run and has covered 2,000 miles! I couldn't even imagine that kind of run.

I do have to point out this isn't just a fun run for Barclay. He's got a plan. He's doing it for a cause. Barclay is trying to raise money for Hall Steps Foundation, which is a non-profit movement to fight global poverty through better health.

Oudersluys says he is doing it for a cause. He has a site called Project Gump in which he is trying to raise $10,000 on his trip for the Hall Steps Foundation, which was founded by two professional runners.

Check out the awesome pictures he has shared on his travels!

You can see more about his travels on his website, ProjectGump.
