1891 Map of Rockford is Something to See

Someone had to draw this. Mind blown.

Maps give an incredible look into the history of what was and what has become. I love reading maps and as soon as I saw this on Rock River Times, I knew I had to share it with you.

The Library of Congress has thousands of these panoramic maps from all sorts of cities and towns in the United States. This is one of them.

The map highlights many booming businesses such as Rockford Desk and Furniture Co., Hess and Hopkins Leather Co. and Rockford Watch Co.

One predominant residence is the home of B. A. Knight, the president of West End Furniture Company.
