10 Things To Know About Mud Factor Returning To Rockford in 2021

Later this summer, you can get dirty without getting in trouble. Ok, so that was a little dirty. But, fingers crossed, there's a fun event returning to Rockford in August.

The "Seriously Fun" 5k mud-filled obstacle course known as Mud Factor is returning to the Rockford area. Yes, technically the event is being held in Byron but they're calling it Rockford. It is scheduled for August 14th at Byron Motorsports Park (BMP), just north of Byron Nuclear Plant.

Here are 10 things to know about Mud Factor.

The Mud Factor 5k "adult waves" are for participants 14+, and of those participants, runners can skip an obstacle without being penalized if they don't feel comfortable doing it. For children ages 4-13, there will be a shortened obstacle course, at 1.86 miles.

Participants must print out their original confirmation and bring it to Byron Motorsports Park on the day of the event.

All adult participants must bring identification.

Parking for the event is $15 and there is no parking on nearby roads.

Spectators are allowed with a $10 pass purchased the day of the event at BMP.

Participants are encouraged to arrive one hour before their wave time.

There will be food, beverages, merchandise booths, so bring cash with you. Participants may also bring extra water to hydrate before and after the run.

The will be a bag check for volunteers, workers, and participants for $5 per bag.

Bring extra clothes, show, and towels because MF will have a wash off station on site with running water. They will also be selling seat covers to keep your vehicle's interior somewhat clean.

Alcohol, outside food, glass, weapons, pets, and alcohol (yes, I mentioned it twice) are not allowed in the parking area or inside Byron Motorsports Park.
