The big snowstorm that rolled through northern Illinois this past weekend produced about a foot of snow for Rockford and the surrounding area. The drifts formed into three foot high frozen, back-breakingly heavy walls of snow. Chicago received almost twenty inches. Good thing there was no football being played at Soldier Field. Of course, that hasn't happened in a couple of years anyways.
