One of Illinois' popular drive-in movie theaters is kicking off the season with a scream as they host an all-night horror movie festival.

Illinois' Midway Drive-In Announces Opening Day

I love watching movies, especially on the big screen. I'm excited for the spring weather because that means drive-in movie season is kicking off. There's no experience quite like it. I make it a point to go a few times every year. The Midway Drive-In is a great place to go check out.

The Midway Drive-In is kicking off the season with a dusk-to-dawn horror movie fest. That means they start the films when it gets dark. There will be four flicks that will go until the sun comes up. Now, that's what I call an event.

This horror movie fest will be celebrating the 45th anniversary of "Dawn of the Dead." Not only will that film be featured but they will also be playing three other flicks from George A. Romero including "Night of the Living Dead," "Day of the Dead," and "The Crazies."

This outdoor theater is located in the middle of nowhere which adds to the scare level. The event is happening on Saturday, May 18th. If you're a collector, they are going to have some vendors selling horror movie merchandise too.
