There is nothing more disgusting to me than hearing someone chew their food.

I could be in a restaurant full of people with the sounds of music playing, servers clinking plates onto trays and conversations abound yet be able to single out the one person on the other side of the restaurant chewing their food like a cow. It makes my skin crawl.

For the rest of the evening I can't concentrate. I have no idea what my husband is talking to me about. All I can hear is the obnoxious person chewing with their mouth full. I can hear their saliva squirming inside of their mouths and the nasty chomping over and over and over.

VOMIT.

I'm not the only one who suffers from Misophonia Disorder, there are millions of us. Yeah, that's right. It's got a word... Misophonia Disorder.

The hatred of commonplace mouth noises like chewing or lip-smacking, and other sounds like the click of a pen, nail-clipping, or typing is a real condition called misophonia, according to Thrillist.

See we aren't all crazy. People who suffer from Misophonia have extremely negative reactions to the sounds of people typing, clicking a pen, mouth chewing and other mouthy sounds.

Side note, I was interrupted while writing this blog. I had to tell Michelle on the other side of the building to stop hitting her drumsticks against the wall. I can hear it. It makes me crazy. It's my Misophonia acting up again.

Another thing that happens to us Misophonia sufferers, we get irritated and less productive in the work place. (Thanks Michelle.)

Studies have shown, according to Thrillist, that Misophonia can be linked to anxiety, depression, and OCD and is a type of "decreased sound tolerance."

I know these horribly annoying sounds will never stop, but at least I know I'm not alone. I just suffer from Misophonia.
