Your Next Cruise Ship Adventure Can Leave From A Wisconsin Port
You can leave from a Wisconsin port on your next cruise ship adventure.
Learning New Facts About Illinois And Wisconsin
It was not an official New Year's Resolution but I did make it a goal of mine to learn more about our region. Especially, because of where we are located it covers a huge area and two states, Illinois and Wisconsin. Then, I want to share this newfound knowledge with you. In my opinion, today was a big find.
Not Taking Advantage Of Lake Michigan
When my family goes on vacation, we usually like to go to the ocean and spend time at a beach. That means traveling to another state which is pretty far away. When I sat and thought about it, there is a major body of water much closer that we do not take advantage of enough. Lake Michigan might not be the Gulf of Mexico, but there are still some great things about it, especially in the summertime.
There Is A Port In Milwaukee
I remember seeing the signs for Port Milwaukee when I have gone to Summerfest but I did not think much about it. Maybe, I should have because it has some big things going on.
"A big increase in cruise ships docking at Port Milwaukee is bringing around $6 million in improvements to help accommodate that traffic."
"That dock will handle some of the largest cruise ships on the Great Lakes."
"Port Milwaukee estimates it will host at least 10,000 cruise ship passengers in 2022."
There Are Cruise Ships That Sail Out Of Milwaukee
I had absolutely no idea there were cruise ships that sailed out of Milwaukee. That is really cool. I am not talking about little boats that do a short trip just offshore. These are real cruise ships. You can take a trip up to Canada or other destinations around the Great Lakes. These cruises will go for several days and you stay on. They sound like a great option if you want to take a trip without having to travel far to catch your boat. Plus, Milwaukee is a main stop.
