The fight for marriage equality got a big boost on Friday as the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the Constitution requires same-sex couples to be allowed to marry in all 50 states.

The landmark ruling is the most significant change in laws governing matrimony since the court struck down state bans on interracial marriage nearly 50 years ago. The majority opinion was written by Justice Anthony Kennedy, who wrote, "No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death."

President Obama, commenting on the ruling via his Twitter account, stated, "Today is a big step in our march toward equality. Gay and lesbian couples now have the right to marry, just like anyone else."

As you can expect, the decision has also generated plenty of commentary across the board. And so far, All That Remains' Phil Labonte, Tom Morello and members of Motley Crue are among those who have voiced their thoughts on the decision. Check out their posts below.
