The Rockford Music Scene Through The Eyes Of Double T
Double T has been a big supporter of local music in Rockford for many years.
Since I was young, I enjoyed going to check live music. I've supported local bands in high school, college, and beyond.
I'm not originally from Rockford, but I've lived here for over 20 years now. It was natural when I moved here to started checking out the local music scene.
I went to my first local show in town a few years before I actually lived here. I came to watch a college friend's band named Haven. They opened for Rockford legends, RIPT.

When I moved to town, I immediately went out to discover what the music scene in Rockford had to offer. I hung out at places like Hard Times, Big Cities, Mary's Place, and L.T.'s. I would catch Pistol Pete whenever possible.

Later on, a club called Elixur located on East State Street just west of Alpine started a Friday Night Rock Night. After a couple of months, I started to host it every week. I did that for a few years. I became friends with the bands. Many of them would invite on stage to jam. One of my favorites was Agent Zero.

I don't get out as much to check out local bands anymore. Adult responsibilities tend to get in the way. Nowadays, I enjoy going out to see Miles Nielsen and The Rusted Hearts.
