Those holes are the Antlions live on beaches. What do these cold-blooded killers do? They grab other bugs, you name it they attack them...Then they kill them and launch the empty shells of the dead bugs out of the holes.

Yep, they grab the other bugs...take them down into the depths of their "death holes" and then launch them out. There's a video of this coming is a bit.

Illinois Beach State Park
