The Illinois Beach Where These Deadly, Cold-Blooded Killers Live

Let's start here, if you see this holes on a beach, the Antlion is probably deep below in the sand:

Those holes are the Antlions live on beaches. What do these cold-blooded killers do? They grab other bugs, you name it they attack them...Then they kill them and launch the empty shells of the dead bugs out of the holes.

Yep, they grab the other bugs...take them down into the depths of their "death holes" and then launch them out. There's a video of this coming is a bit.

You can find these nasty creatures, these Antlions primarily at one location in Illinois.

Illinois Beach State Park

Located north of Chicago along Lake Michigan, this park protects the only significant dune formations left in Illinois. In addition to an interpretive center in the nature preserve, there are several hiking trails along which antlions are easily spotted during spring and summer. - AntLionPit
