It appears that weather in many parts of Missouri and Illinois could get very interesting beginning Tuesday late morning/early afternoon. The expectations have now increased that both states could experience hurricane-force winds, hail and perhaps even some tornadoes.
If you doubted the strength of thunderstorms making their way through northeast Missouri Tuesday evening, here's certifiable proof. Missouri weather stations have confirmed hurricane-force winds have already been recorded and the storms have just begun.
It's not like we didn't know the wind was coming, but when it did show up on Thursday a few hours after a wind advisory was put into effect, it was surprisingly strong for Northern Illinois, even in April.
