Patients rated 10 Illinois hospitals as the best in the state.

Sometimes it's better not to revisit the past. This is a perfect example. It's a southern Illinois hospital that has been abandoned for more than 40 years that many believe is haunted. There are pictures and videos to prove that theory true.

It used to be a fully-functioning hospital in Illinois. Now, it's abandoned awaiting new owners, but urban explorers just shared a bizarre walk through its halls including a very creepy morgue.

I can count on one hand the number of times in my life when I aced a test. For 24 Illinois hospitals, that's no big deal as the numbers of medical facilities given perfect 'A' grades for patient safety has now increased.

I've been fortunate to have nothing but positive experiences at the hospitals I've received care from. Not everyone is so fortunate. The most fundamental thing a hospital should do for you is to keep you safe. In Wisconsin, only 9 hospitals were given a perfect A grade for patient safety.

I understand what it's like to be middle of the pack. Not the greatest. Not the worst. Just kind of 'meh'. That's the situation for 41 Illinois hospitals that are neither the best or scary. They were just downgraded to a mediocre 'C' rating for patient safety.

Not everyone will get A's and that extends to folks in the medical field.

A few weeks ago, I shared data from the last complete year which revealed only 2 Missouri hospitals received a 'D' rating for patient safety. Brand new data for Spring of 2024 has now been released and it shows that now a half dozen Missouri hospitals have fallen to that nearly bottom category.

Unlike some modern school curriculums, not everyone gets a prize when it comes to hospitals and safety. That's why it's great news that a newly-updated national ranking has given 14 Missouri hospitals a stellar A rating for patient safety.
