State Representative Chuck Jefferson (D) unexpectedly announced his resignation from office today, according to our news partners at mystateline.com. Jefferson's resignation is effective immediately and no reason was given. He has served as the state representative for the 67th District since 2001. That district primarily covers Rockford's west side.
