We all missed out on  A LOT of things in 2020. We didn't get to celebrate holidays or birthdays with all the people we love. Many of our favorite traditions and events didn't happen. You get my point here...2020 was a real bummer.

Now that it's 2021, and Illinois is just a hop, skip and a jump away from lifting all COVID restrictions, we have a lot to celebrate.

For many Rockfordians, the Rockford Symphony Orchestra's "Star Spangled Spectacular" at RVC's Starlight Theatre is a beloved Independence Day weekend tradition. Thanks to COVID, it didn't happen in 2020, but I'm happy to tell you now that it WILL be returning this July!

What You Need to Know If You Want To Go

Rockford Symphony Orchestra's Star Spangled Spectacular will take place at RVC's Starlight Theatre on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 8 p.m. The concert will feature a great night of patriotic music guaranteed to give you proud-to-be-an-American goosebumps. They only thing the  Star Spangled Spectacular won't feature this year is... the fireworks.

Theatre seating and lawn seats are on sale now at rockfordsymphony.com, and I'm willing to bet they will sell out quick.

If you're wondering about capacity limits and COVID protocols/restrictions for the show, here is what Rockford Symphony Orchestra's website says;

As we plan, we are planning for the current “Bridge Phase” which allows 60% of the house to be sold. If we fully re-open on June 11, this will most likely change.

While the house will not be socially distanced, we will currently be requiring masks for the audience, regardless of vaccination status, to comply to our local Heath department guidelines. Again, if things change on June 11, we will need to change with it.

FYI, those COVID protocols will be the same for every show this season at Starlight Theatre this summer, so plan accordingly.
