Sheriff’s Dept. Squad Car Involved In Overnight Fatal Accident

Details are limited (as of this writing) but one person is dead after crashing into a Winnebago Sheriff's Department squad car.

The officer in the stopped patrol car was uninjured, the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. According to WREX, the Winnebago County Coroner's office was called to the scene on West State Street.

The area of W. State and Pierpont should be avoided while officers continue to investigate the crash.
