Sharing Netflix Password With Other Rockford Peeps? That Ends in March.
So question...how many people have your Netflix password? Or is the Netflix password you have, one that's been handed down time and time again? Well brace yourself Rockford because Netflix is cracking down on this...soon. KCTV
Password sharing is a big thing, I mean a BIG THING. Fortune says 100 million households, are using others Netflix password. Yikes!
Netflix plans to have all of this shutdown by March of 2023. So how do you do such a thing? In Latin America, they have started a "shared password" program that will cost you $2 or 3...One password, one household. That's it.
By sharing passwords, you are stopping Netflix from making their product better, or something...
(Netflix password sharing) “undermines our long term ability to invest in and improve Netflix.” - Netflix
So if your team at work has a "password" or your cousins and relatives all share the same one, you might want to but a new plan together because the Netflix Police will be coming to get you by March.
I actually read the minutes from the Netflix shareholders meeting about all of this. Some pretty interesting and extremely boring stuff in there! 2022 was a pretty rough year for Netflix, but did get a bit better as the year came to a close. People are actually getting out and doing things, so sitting in front of your TV or computer screen to watch an entire season of baking cakes...not as important.
