Rockford Woman Loses Her Life After Being Hit By A Car On Alpine

Earlier this morning at around 9:45 am, a 44 year old woman was struck by a car on Alpine road according to WIFR.com. The woman was reportedly crossing north Alpine on foot when she was struck by a minivan. Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The minivan driver was not injured in the accident but he did stay at the scene. Police have stated that North Alpine between Highcrest and Pinecrest will be closed for the next few hours. Rockford Police and the Winnebago County Coroner's office are still investigating the scene. As of now, no names of the people involved in the accident have been released. My thoughts and prayers go to the family of the woman that lost her life today.
