I once built an eight foot snowman.

It's kinda like catching a fish I think, it probably was actually like five feet. I was always more into the proper carrot nose, charcoal eyes, and if I could get away with breaking branches off of the neighbors trees for arms.

Obviously I'm not cut out for The Rockford Park District's 31st Annual Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition. But maybe you and your friends are.

Originally planned for January 18–21, the snow sculpting competition was rescheduled for January 25-28, because of weather. The competition takes place at Sinnissippi Park and it is broken down into three different categories:

  • State Competition - January 25-28
  • High School Competition - January 26-28
  • Awards Ceremony - January 28

You are more then welcome to attend and watch this amazing display of artistry, free of charge. Donations are gladly accepted. More information about Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition can be found here.
