There's so much ugly these days but when you see stories like these, it restores your faith in humanity, one step at a time.

Erica Rush Harle shared on Facebook yesterday:

Sweetest thing happened today at Target, a woman pulled up in her van and handed me flowers with a card attached and said "have a wonderful day". I opened the card and it had 3 gift cards in it. A $50 Target, $20 for McDonald's and Starbucks. So amazing! Made my year so far!

You can't discount the impact that something as simple as a bouquet of flowers and a couple of gift cards can have on someone, much less a random stranger.

The best part about Harle receiving the gift is that she is probably more likely to do something kind for someone else too.

Seems Harle's friends on Facebook feel the same way, saying "pass along the good deed" and "I think I may do that with the bouquets of tulips that you can get right now from Crimson Ridge."

Be on the lookout because who knows, maybe this is the beginning of a kindness movement right here in Rockford. Tell me, wouldn't your day just be that much better if you were on the receiving end of a random act of kindness?

LOOK: Milestones in women's history from the year you were born

Women have left marks on everything from entertainment and music to space exploration, athletics, and technology. Each passing year and new milestone makes it clear both how recent this history-making is in relation to the rest of the country, as well as how far we still need to go. The resulting timeline shows that women are constantly making history worthy of best-selling biographies and classroom textbooks; someone just needs to write about them.

Scroll through to find out when women in the U.S. and around the world won rights, the names of women who shattered the glass ceiling, and which country's women banded together to end a civil war.
