Rockford Fire Department Looking for 911 Operators

This position will require someone who is great at multitasking, communicating, and typing. Applicants should also be able to make split second judgement calls that can affect the life of another. You must also be able to listen, type, speak, and think all at the same time. Compassion and empathy while maintaining a high degree of emotional self control is required. Anyone applying for this position must be able to work 12 hour shifts day and night, weekends and holidays, scheduled and last minute.
