Rockford Business Aims to Brighten the Day of Needy Families
I feel like a broken record, but the last year has been rough.
Last year at this time we were just getting into the thick of the pandemic, and most of us had to find a new way to celebrate with Mom on Mother's Day. To me, Mother's Day is really about making one of the most important women in your life smile and feel loved, but also allowing them a moment to unwind, relax and do something that they love.
Sadly, many single moms in the Rockford area won't be able to take a break from the stresses and troubles of daily life this Mother's Day, so one Rockford business is on a mission to change that this weekend.
Last month London Avenue Designs in Rockford started a "Rooting For You" Campaign to help bring a little joy to struggling members of our community. The outpouring of support they saw in April has now inspired them to help 175 families living in the Orton Keys Community this Mother's Day weekend according a recent London Avenue Designs post on Facebook...
this Mother’s Day weekend on May 8th we are going to not only be providing fresh floral bouquets to each family as our way of saying “Happy Mother’s Day” but also boxes of FREE FRESH groceries hand delivered to their doors!!.Our friends @cityfirstchurch, in working with the Northern Illinois Food Bank have been providing groceries for our community at no cost since the start of the pandemic... we are BEYOND excited to be partnering together with them to bring much needed fresh groceries to the doorsteps of 175 amazing families.
If you want to volunteer to help deliver the packages this Saturday, May 8, just email London Avenue Designs at info@londonave.com.
