Ozzy Osbourne Hints at 2017 Ozzfest Announcement
Ozzy Osbourne is looking to revive Ozzfest again this year.
A new post on Osbourne's Facebook page features a picture of the singer with shredding guitarist Zakk Wylde along with the caption, "Hey Zakk, should we do an #Ozzfest this year?"
Another new Facebook post notes that an "Ozzfest Meets Knotfest 2017 Announcement" is coming on July 10.
Last year, the inaugural Ozzfest Meets Knotfest festival was held for two days in September in San Bernardino, Calif. Black Sabbath, who recently wrapped up a farewell tour, headlined one of the nights.
In April, Osbourne and Wylde -- who was the singer's guitarist on a stretch of solo records from the late '80s to the mid '00s -- announced a short run of four reunion shows, their first extended dates together in 10 years.
Wylde played with Osbourne on his 1988 solo album, No Rest for the Wicked, 1991's follow-up, No More Tears, 1995's Ozzmosis, 2001's Down to Earth and 2007's Black Rain, as well as various live records from the period. They've performed together at selct shows over the years, but haven't toured together since 2006.
Ozzfest started in 1996, and continued as an annual traveling festival in the States through 2007. Since then, there have been some off years, one-day-only years, short tours and overseas events. Knotfest was founded in 2012 by Slipknot.
Osbourne is also reportedly working on a new solo album, due next year. His last record was 2010's Scream. He's put his solo career on hold the past couple years to focus on Black Sabbath's reunion album and tour.
