Original Alice Cooper Band Members Ready Black Friday Release; Bassist Preps Beasto Blanco Album
In October of 2015, the surviving members of the original Alice Cooper band reunited and played together at Good Records Dallas. Cooper, guitarist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway and drummer Neil Smith played a short set along with guitarist Ryan Roxie, who is currently in Cooper's band.
On Black Friday, Nov. 25, a special 7" single of two of those songs will be released. The single, called Live From the Astroturf, includes "I'm Eighteen" and "Is It My Body." Check out a video of the band talking about and then playing "I'm Eighteen" above.
The single, dedicated to their late guitarist Glen Buxton, will be available only in record stores, and will be released in a limited edition of 2,500 copies pressed in white, pink, black and pink and white vinyl. Only 100 copies of the pink and white version will be available, and will also include autographed prints from the four band members.
In other Alice Cooper band member news, bassist Chuck Garric's group Beasto Blanco will release their sophomore album Nov. 25 via Rat Pak Records. Garric plays guitar and sings in the band. The self-titled album includes a cover of the Alice Cooper track "Feed My Frankenstein" featuring Beasto Blanco's Calico Cooper, who happens to be Alice's daughter.
“I’m very proud of this release,” says Garric. “This new album showcases the band's evolution as songwriters and our unity as a musical force.” Calico Cooper adds, “This record is like a baseball bat to the chest that you want more and more of.“
Pre-orders of Beasto Blanco are available at this location.
