When we finally make it past the holidays, there's not much to look forward to for the rest of the winter, right?

I mean, once you turn the page on a new year, what else is there? Valentine's Day? C'mon.

Actually, there's something for all of us in Illinois and Wisconsin to do, and considering Thrillist is calling it one of the Best Winter Festivals Across the U.S., we should be jumping at the chance to check it out.

Thrillist:

Perhaps best understood as immersive, ephemeral art installations, these large-scale creations are made by professional ice artists who use hundreds of thousands of hand-placed icicles (as well as some colorful LED lights) to create fantastical worlds of crystalline castles, caves, tunnels, and thrones. Every location is different, and each installation changes from one year to the next. If you want to feel like you’re stepping into a frozen fairytale (or straight-up Frozen), seek one out when they open in January, weather permitting.

According to ABC 7 in Chicago, "Construction has begun at the Lake Geneva Ice Castles" further mentioning "artisans began growing and harvesting icicles to create the frozen attraction that draws tens of thousands of visitors to Geneva National Resort and Club each winter."

Here's the thing, like ABC 7 mentioned, for a frozen event, this is one hot ticket and while they haven't officially gone on sale yet, Ice Castles is selling "booking vouchers."

They aren't actual tickets but "The voucher can be used to redeem your Ice Castles tickets at a later date." according to Ice Castles.

That means, when Ice Castles is ready to open, fingers crossed in January, they will release a schedule of times and dates when you can redeem the vouchers.
