Not sure about the rest of the US but I feel Illinois getting recognized as one of the "loudest states in the US" is well deserved.

Again, I'm not sure about the rest, but how many other states have people blowing up fireworks before, during, and after the 4th of July?

Maybe everyone is, but this is how Zippia decided the loudest states in America.

They based their criteria in four different categories including home and family size along with cars and people per square mile.

The top 5 on the list were New Jersey, California, Hawaii, Florida, and Rhode Island.

In at #6 was Illinois. So what you're telling me is Rhode Island is actually louder than Illinois?

Rhode Island crushes Illinois in terms of people per square mile (1,010 to 231) and cars per square mile (395 to 81).

So while things are nice and loud in Illinois, Wisconsin is kind of the opposite. Wisconsin ranked as the 28th loudest state in the US while Iowa came in at 32nd.

The only Midwest state to even crack the top ten (tied for 10th) was Ohio.
