Big thanks to Austin Love from 13 WREX for having me on his morning show today. I'm pretty sure Austin wasn't born when Metal Health went #1 in 1983 but seriously a great dude.

It was November 15th 1983, Quiet Riot was opening for Black Sabbath at The Rockford Metro Centre. News came down post show that the next day, Quiet Riot's "Metal Health" would be the #1 album in the country. Between radio play and MTV playing "Cum on Feel the Noize" every thirty minutes, America took notice that Quiet Riot was the real deal.

Let's take a look at this landmark album in rock/pop music history. Metal Health was released March 11th 1983. The title track is has been known by a few different names. It was called "Metal Health" on the original release, but was renamed "Bang Your Head", sometimes with 'Metal Health' in parentheses.

Let's take a look at the rest of Quiet Riot's "Metal Health" album:

  • Metal Health
  • Cum on Feel the Noize
  • Don't Wanna Let You Go
  • Slick Black Cadillac
  • Love's a Bitch
  • Breathless
  • Run For Cover
  • Battle Axe
  • Let's Get Crazy
  • Thunderbird

Ten million sold worldwide and we get them this Saturday, how great is that? Get your tickets for Quiet Riot headlining Brews and BBQ at The Rockford Speedway.
