Movie Matinees Now Through March Hosted by Rockford Police

The Rockford Police Department have kicked off a new program where they will host Movie Matinees now until the end of March.

Thursday afternoon the District One Station was turned into a theater for the start of the Movie Matinees program. The first movie in the program was Cars 3 and kids were also treated to popcorn and other snacks.

Since the District One Station opened officers have been trying to think of community events they could host in this space. The Movie Matinees Program is just one of the ideas they had. Officers hope to use this room even more to host other meetings and events in the future.

Four more movie days have been planned now through the end of March. Movies will run from 1pm to 3pm, with the exception of March 28th. Lunch will be severed before the film that day so it will start an hour earlier, running from Noon until 3pm.
