Rockford will host minor league basketball once again, but for just one night.

I have great memories of the old Rockford Lightning days. Those games were a lot of fun. I was sad when they left.

A couple of attempts were made to bring another team to town, but unfortunately, it didn't work out.

The closest we've had is the Harlem Globetrotters.

Now, there's good news. Minor League Basketball will be making a come back in the Forest City. It's only for one night, but that's better than nothing.

According to mystateline.com,

"It’s been a long time since basketball was played at the BMO Harris Bank Center That is expected to change soon. The downtown Rockford arena is expected to host a pair of NBA G League preseason games on Friday, November 1st. One will likely involve the Bulls’ G League team the Windy City Bulls and the Bucks’ G League team the Wisconsin Herd. Both teams are having issues scheduling the game with their own arenas. Two other G League teams that are having the same scheduling issues are also expected to play a preseason game in Rockford. The G League is the NBA’s developmental league."

I would definitely go check that out.
