Illinois Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame nominations being accepted now.

History

It was early 2020 when I first found out about the Illinois Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Check it out, HERE.

According to roadtorock.org,

"The "Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66" is a public charity 501c3 nonprofit organization that exists to preserve the history of musicians and bands with ties to Illinois while educating visitors about our rich music history."

"Illinois has a rich musical heritage that has influenced rock and roll artists across the globe. Musicians from Rockford to Chicago, Champaign to downstate Illinois have played an integral part of the music scene for decades creating music that transcends many genres."

I know there is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but I believe it is a great idea to honor the talented musicians and artists in our state of Illinois.

Class Of 2020

Where do you even start? It was the very first induction class to the hall so it was a very important decision. Here is the beginning.

Introducing the inaugural members...

  • Cheap Trick
  • REO Speedwagon
  • Chicago
  • Muddy Waters
  • Buddy Guy
  • Ides of March
  • The Buckinghams
  • Chess Records
  • The Thirsty Whale
  • Dick Biondi
  • Larry Lujack
  • WLS - AM Radio

That is an impressive group. Unfortunately, they were not able to hold a ceremony in 2020. Hopefully, they can do something big for this year.

Who's Next

There are still plenty more to add to that incredible list. The cool part is you can be a part of the process.

The Illinois Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame is currently taking nominations for the Class of 2021.
