For the first time ever, see the 12-acre gardens illuminated like never before. Until now, touring the gardens in the dark was never on anyones 'must-see' list. This is the first time Anderson Gardens has ever been open to the public during the winter.
Wintertime Lightscapes: A Holiday Themed Garden Experience
This week, I had the pleasure of being one of the first to see this new holiday display. I can tell that it really was nothing short of incredible. Here are some of the photos I took.
Here's you chance to experience Anderson Gardens in an incredible new light
Wintertime Lightscapes will be open Friday, December 3 - Thursday, December 23 from 3:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights will also feature local middle and high school choirs singing Christmas carols and other musical performances.
Hot chocolate drinks will be available for purchase indoors at Fresco Wednesdays through Sundays. Also available at Garden Pavilion by Rockford Roasting Company Thursdays - Sundays.
How about a Fresco Fireside Dinner
Dinner inside Anderson Gardens timber-framed Visitor Center overlooking the outdoor scenery. Tables are available on a first-come basis, reservations are not accepted. The fireside dinners are available Wednesday - Friday 4 - 7 p.m.. Saturday and Sunday 3 - 7 p.m.

Much like their Concerts In The Garden during the summer, weekend offsite parking will be available at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and you can ride the shuttle to Anderson Japanese Gardens (Shuttle available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only).
