Illinois Is Home To One Of The Most Popular Cheerleading Squads

As of the time of this story, things aren't very good for sports in Illinois.

In baseball, the Cubs are two games below .500.  The White Sox might go down as the worst team in MLB history.

In the NBA, the Bulls finished 39-43 last year with things looking about the same for 2024/2025.

NHL fans really watched a bad year with the Blackhawks in dead last season.

The Bears...well let's see.  There is a lot of hope around rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and a Bears team that finished strong last year.

No matter how bad things get, there is always a group of smiling folks cheering their team on.  And for one team they can hold their head high by having some of the most popular cheerleaders in America.

There was never a doubt about this one right?  They have their own show.  They are their own brand.  They are the best thing about that franchise.  With nearly 2 million social media followers you'd have to combine the next 5 teams to have as big a following as the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

2 - New England Patriots Cheerleaders

This was a surprise at number 2.  The team is popular cause of all the cheating...I mean winning...but it's normally cold in Boston.  That usually doesn't bode well for cheerleaders.

3 - Houston Texans Cheerleaders

Having lived in Houston this one wasn't a surprise.  They are very active at games and in the community throughout the year.

4 - Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders

Warm weather and popular cheerleaders.  Yeah, that makes sense.

5 - Denver Broncos Cheerleaders

Not warm weather all year long and popular cheerleaders...ok doesn't make as much sense but the Broncos are a nationwide brand with a huge following.

6 - Laker Girls

Our first non-NFL cheer group!  While the Lakers and Lakers Girls are super popular it just shows how dominant the NFL is in...well everything.

7 - Seahawks Dancers

And then we are right back to the NFL with the Seahawks.  Home of the 12th man and the 7th most popular cheerleading group.

8 - Clutch City Dancers

The only city with two teams of cheerleaders.  Houston loves their cheering and has plenty of talented ladies that can get the crowd going.

9 - Chicago Luvabulls

Hey, hey!  Here we are!  The Chicago Luvabulls make the top 10 with over a combined 183,000 social media followers.  They have quite a way to go to move up the rankings but really are only about 60,000 behind the Rockets and 100,000 behind the Lakers.  There are enough Bulls fans and proud Illinois residents in general to make this happen.  So give them a follow on Facebook, Instagram, or X...they haven't used X in over 10 years.  So maybe one of the other ones.
