A 3-day academy for "youth recruits" will be held this summer in Illinois for 7th to 12th graders who are interested in careers that involve law enforcement.

Winnebago County Sheriff's Office Hosting Youth Academy

A summer youth academy is from July 25 to 27 at the Criminal Justice Center in Rockford, Illinois, and will be offered at no cost.

The 3-day event will run from 9 am to 4 pm daily and will focus on patrol, corrections, the court system, and other areas that are directly and indirectly involved with areas of law enforcement.

Lunch will be provided for free all three days, and the only requirement to attend is to have a positive attitude and willingness to learn about areas of law enforcement.

How Do I Register for Youth Police Academy?

Students at South Beloit, Harlem High School, or Harlem Junior High School can pick up an application from their School Resource Officer or you can email Deputy Chief Tammie Stanley StanleyT@WCSO-il.us to receive an application.
