One of my favorite new TV shows is 'The Bear' and it's been winning all the awards in Hollywood for Best Comedy Series, but I love watching it to see the Illinois and Chicago landmarks.

The Bear is currently filming season 3 in the River North neighborhood, and there have been scenes filmed in front of a Randolph Street restaurant, and in Evanston by St. Mary's Catholic Church, according to WBEZ Chicago.

Some of the most iconic movies and TV series have been set in Illinois, especially around the Chicagoland area.

NBC even dedicates an entire night of prime-time TV programming on Wednesdays to the Windy City when they air Chicago Med, Chicago PD, and Chicago Fire, all shows filmed primarily around the city.

If you want to visit the exact locations where some of these iconic movies were filmed in Illinois, here's where to find them:

The Fugitive

Starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, during a chase scene in 'The Fugitive' they both run right through Daley Plaza past the Picasso Statue located at 50 W. Washington Street in downtown Chicago.

Ford's character in the movie is Dr. Richard Kimball and the actual residence of the Kimballs featured in the film is located at 336 W. Wisconsin Street in Lincoln Park, according to Choose Chicago.

Home Alone

You'll recognize airport terminal 3 that the McAllister family is running through in the movie Home Alone IF you've ever been late for a flight at O'Hare.

Bad Teacher

Exterior scenes of the school featured in the Cameron Diaz comedy 'Bad Teacher' were filmed at Lincoln Middle School at 200 S. Lincoln in Park Ridge, Illinois.

Ferris Buehler's Day Off

If you want to sit in the same seats that Ferris and friends did at Wrigley Field playing hooky from school, they're reportedly located in Section 140, according to FromThisSeat.

Little Fockers

In the movie Little Fockers featuring Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro, some scenes occur at 720 S. Michigan Avenue inside the Hilton Hotel.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

A popular holiday favorite with Steve Martin and John Candy attempting to get across the country together so they can make it back to Chicago for Thanksgiving.

Martin played the character Steve Page and his family home featured in the movie is located at 230 Oxford Road in Kenilworth, Illinois.

The Breakfast Club

Shermer High School was used for the majority of The Breakfast Club but was also used for school scenes in the movies Ferris Buehler's Day Off, Sixteen Candles, and Weird Science.

The former location of Shermer High School is now used by the Illinois State Police and other state government agencies at 9511 Harrison Street in Des Plaines, Illinois.
