Now that we've switched the calendar to May, some of our favorite Rockford area events are back like Food Truck Tuesdays, City Market, and this Saturday it's one of the largest community garage sales in the Stateline.
Two Historic Illinois Neighborhoods Having Huge Garage Sale This Saturday
Every year on the first Saturday in May, shoppers and bargain hunters from around the Midwest head into this tree-lined neighborhood for what's described as a "cross between a flea market and a neighborhood block party."
The Churchills Grove and Edgewater neighborhoods are hosting their annual garage sales this Saturday (5/4) rain or shine from 9 am to 3 pm and features block after block of treasures.
Signs are up along Harlem Blvd. promoting the 39th year of the community garage sale that still has some slots open if you want to sell some things.
Can you sell at the Garage Sale if not a Churchill's Grove resident?
According to the Churchill's Grove website, all neighborhood residents can register for the garage sale for $10 if you're an association member, and $15 if you're not. Non-residents who use a resident's garage to sell their items are charged a $25 fee.
The deadline to register for the garage sale and be included in the locator map has already passed, but you still may be able to get a spot to sell your goods.
