Illinois has a bedbug problem, but it's not as bad as it used to be.
A new report from Terminix ranks Chicago as the 13th worst in America for bed bugs.

Chicago Drops Out of Top 10 Worst Cities for Bed Bugs
Now, that’s not great, but at least it’s not top ten anymore. Hey, progress! Besides Chicago, Champaign, Springfield, and Decatur all ranked #46 on the list.
Which Illinois Cities Made the Bed Bug Rankings
If you live here, be happy because that’s it. Not one other Illinois city cracked the top 50, which obviously means Rockford is in the clear. No bedbugs in Rockford.

Why Bed Bug Numbers Are Increasing Nationwide
The rankings are based on how many treatments Terminix had to administer in 2025, and they say increased travel is part of what’s been driving larger bed bug numbers.
