If you thought HomeGoods was shutting down, don't panic. I honestly thought the same thing, too. The chain that's actually closing stores is At Home, A warehouse-style home decor retailer, and three Illinois locations are on the chopping block, unfortunately. That means shoppers in Crestwood, Peoria, and nearby Lake in the Hills will soon see "Everything Must Go" signs.

Illinois At Home Stores Closing Soon

At Home is shutting down stores at 12180 South Cicero Avenue in Crestwood, another at 5203 West War Memorial Drive in Peoria, and at 101 Randall Road in Lake in the Hills. These places were once popular destinations for seasonal items like patio sets or discount furniture, but now, once they're gone, they're gone.

Deep Discounts in Crestwood, Peoria, Lake in the Hills

Going-out-of-business sales are now underway, offering 30% off many items, including holiday essentials. Now might be the time to stock up because you know Christmas is coming, so you might as well get ready for it.

According to The Street, Hilco Consumer, the liquidation firm behind the closing of At Home, says:

These stores are offering some of the best deals shoppers will see all year — but only for a short time...Customers who want the best selection on furniture, décor, and seasonal finds should shop early before the most popular items disappear.

Why At Home Filed for Bankruptcy

At Home filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June, claiming high import costs and tariffs on overseas goods as the reason. The company restructured its $2 billion debt, which involved closing some underperforming stores.

Overall, At Home is shuttering 31 across the United States, with three in Illinois, as part of their plan to survive.
