When I was in grade school and it was field trip day, it was always exciting that it would be a day away from school, but I still knew I was going to a boring "museum."

Nothing could be boring about this museum in Chicago that's recently been way more popular on TikTok than traditional visits like the Field Museum and Adler Planetarium.

I've got the scoop on The Museum of Ice Cream located on Michigan Avenue that's an immersive experience described as "Chicago's Largest Playground Filled with Unlimited Ice Cream."

When you transport into this creamy world, you'll play on a putt-putt course, get an ice cream education while riding the "pink Sprink-L line" and slide into a pool filled with large sprinkles.

Chicago's Museum of Ice Cream opened back in July, but there's always something new to enjoy including the seasonal ice cream flavors and during the holidays the MOIC will be celebrating "Pinkmas."

Dive into a sweet spread of UNLIMITED ice cream that spans global tastes, textures and toppings! Whether you’re into creamy, crunchy, dairy-free or fruity, Museum of Ice Cream is serving up the chillest treats for every tastebud with fantastically familiar flavors and un-cone-ventional bites.

The Museum of Ice Cream is open Thursday-Monday (Closed Tuesday, Wednesday) from 11am to 7pm. Tickets are $25 on weekdays, and $33 on weekends with kids 2 and younger admitted for free.

Located at 435 North Michigan Avenue, there's a cafe, bar, and shop inside the MOIC that offers shakes, sundaes, and Chicago inspired ice cream cocktails.

Besides the Museum of Ice Cream in Chicago, there are also locations in New York City and Austin, Texas. Shanghai and Singapore also have MOIC installations.
