Summer Skate at Navy Pier Is Bringing Retro Roller Fun to Chicago
Navy Pier in Chicago is welcoming a new experience full of retro vibes and roller skating fun that looks like something we need to add to this year's summer bucket list.
Summer Fun in Illinois
As a parent, obviously, I love my kids, but every once in a while I need a night out that doesn’t involve chicken nuggets, trampoline parks, or hearing “Mommmmm!” every six seconds.
Between kids' sports games, other activities, and work commitments, my husband and I don't have a lot of free time to go on date nights that don't feature simply grabbing a few drinks at one of our local bars.

My husband doesn't know this yet, but I have made it my mission this summer to find new and fun things for us to do together, and the new Summer Skate experience at Navy Pier looks like a good one to add to our list.
New Roller Skating Experience at Navy Pier
As an 80s baby and a 90s teen, posts like this one are always going to grab my attention:
This Summer Skate at Navy Pier looks like it was taken straight from my favorite childhood memories of roller skating in my parents' basement to New Kids On The Block songs... but it is much more than just roller skating.
This experience will feature a skate floor under a glass atrium, a musical playlist stacked with disco hits and 90s throwbacks, plus classic arcade games to play when you need to take a break from skating.
Summer Skate Tickets
Earlier I mentioned my need for some adults-only fun in Illinois, but the truth is, the Summer Skate at Navy Pier is open to all ages and skill levels... so I guess I should bring my kids along for the fun.
Summer Skate at Navy Pier will open on June 18 and run daily through Labor Day. Tickets will start at $17.50, but aren't officially on sale yet. You can sign up for the Summer Skate waitlist now at bucketlisters.com for the chance to gain access to early bird passes and other important information.
The only question left now is: Should we start planning our retro-inspired, totally-neon outfit to wear when we go? I can't wait to break out my snap bracelets and neon slouch socks again!
