Two Separate Robot Crashes Caught on Camera
This happened not once but twice at CTA bus shelters in Chicago.
One slammed into a stop at Grand and Racine and shattered glass everywhere, and the same thing happened at another stop near North and Halsted.
One of the incidents was caught on camera, and thankfully, at both scenes, no one was injured, but man, it’s not exactly the kind of thing that instills confidence in your delivery robot.
Coco Robotics and Serve Robotics Respond to Incidents
The accidents occurred with two different companies: Coco Robotics and Serve Robotics.
Coco said crashes are “rare,” but announced they are looking into it and will pay for the damage.

Chicago Residents Push Back on Delivery Robot Program
It might be a little too late, though, as it seems Chicagoans have had it up to here with delivery robots.
There’s a petition circulating in the city with thousands of signatures calling for a rethink of the entire program, which is set to run through May of 2027.
