Here's some great news for Illinois families; AMC Theatres is bringing back its popular "Summer Movie Camp" series featuring discounted movie passes for the first time since 2019, and several Illinois theatres are a part of it!

Taking Kids to the Movies Isn't for the Faint of Heart

Taking kids to the movie theater can be a major eye-opening experience. First of all, you're taking a major gamble on whether your children will sit still enough for any of your to actually enjoy the flick. Secondly, and most importantly, it costs a LOT more than it used to go to the movies. Tickets are more expensive, even for a matinee, and don't even get me started on the cost of concessions.

Despite those two issues, going to the movie theatre is definitely something every child should experience, so we parents need to find a way to do it as cheaply as possible. That's where taking advantage of special movie theatre programs comes in.

What AMC Theatres in Illinois Are Participating in Summer Movie Camp?

Lucky for us Illinoisans, 32 AMC Theatres throughout the state are offering the Summer Movie Camp series, including Showplace 16 and 14 in Rockford and Machesney Park.  Five different AMC Theatres throughout Wisconsin are participating too! (See the full list of participating theatres, here).

The only question we have left to answer now is; how can we save money on all those movie treats? If you know a good way that doesn't involve sneaking food in with your purse, send me a message on the app. LOL!
