6 Bed Bath & Beyond Stores in Illinois Will Be Closing

When I got married and had my first home to furnish, I was a big Bed Bath & Beyond shopper, ( I love me some coupons). In recent years though, the store has started to slip my mind a little bit, and apparently, I am not the only one.

Bed Bath & Beyond Store Closures Are Coming

We've heard rumblings about big changes coming to Bed Bath & Beyond stores throughout the nation, and a few weeks ago the company confirmed they would be closing stores and cutting their workforce by 20 percent. The company's statement also said they would be making other changes to what we will find in Bed Bath & Beyond stores going forward like;

adjusting merchandise allocations to lead with customer preference and bringing back popular national brands and introducing new, emerging direct-to-consumer brands.

What Bed Bath & Beyond Stores Will Be Closing in Illinois?

Bed Bath & Beyond currently has 25 stores in Illinois, and now we know that 6 of those stores will be closing soon. On Thursday, September 15, 2022, Bed Bath & Beyond released a list of 56 stores that will be closing and the Illinois locations that made the chopping block are:

Gurnee
Schaumburg
Fairview Heights
Carbondale
Joliet
Kankakee

Is the Bed Bath & Beyond Store in Rockford Safe?

Rockford's Bed Bath & Beyond store may not have made the list of stores that will be closing soon, BUT that doesn't mean it never will. Bed Bath & Beyond's statement in August said that 150 of their stores are slated to close, and the list they released on Thursday only included 56 stores. So, I'm assuming more closure announcements will be coming. Will Rockford make it through round 2? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
