Illinois’ Absolute Worst-Rated Pizza Just Got Revealed & We Agree

I'm not saying this deserves to be called out, I'm just not sure it's the worst pizza in Illinois.

Depending on who you ask, they'll say "Deep Dish Pizza is the way to go" or "Eating Deep Dish Pizza is like eating a casserole."

Most of the time, Deep Dish detractors aren't from Chicago or Illinois in general so I take their hate with a grain of salt.

Where's the hate for Stuffed Pizza? If you're thinking Stuffed and Deep Dish are the same, think again.

Doreen's Pizza has got the scoop, erm, the slice on the difference between them both:

• Deep-dish pizzas have a crust that rises up to the sides of the pan. On the other hand, stuffed pizzas are even deeper than deep-dish pizzas. An additional layer of dough is used for covering the stuffed pizza.

• Stuffed pizzas are loaded with ounces of cheese. Deep-dish pizzas, however, have more tomato sauce and less cheese in comparison to stuffed pizzas.

All that to say, Taste Atlas ranks Stuffed Pizza as the worst pizza in Illinois.

Never quite explaining why it's the "worst" Taste Atlas at least tells us more about this oft-confused slice of pie saying Stuffed Pizza "has a more solid and smooth crust than the deep-dish pizza. The dough is also a bit drier and sweeter."

Hard to disagree with Stuffed Pizzas getting ranked so poorly. Truth is, I prefer that style of pizza less than just about anything else.

If you think that's weird consider Deep Dish was listed as the second worst.
