Three Trunk or Treats in Illinois You Don’t Want to Miss

Grab your candy bags and load up the cars, it's time for SO MANY Trunk or Treats in Rockford. 

Way back when I was a kid, we only really celebrated Halloween on October 31. Maybe, just maybe, if Halloween was on a Monday or Tuesday, there would be a Halloween party the weekend before, but there was not trick-or-treating until the sun was down on the 31st.

These days, not only do kids get the chance to wear their costumes pretty much the entire month of October, but there are a bunch of trunk-or-treat events leading up to actual Halloween.

Not only does this give the community to get together in a safe place to celebrate Halloween, but it also gives kids a chance to double or triple their candy haul!

Rockford has a TON of trunk-or-treat events this weekend and next, here are three on October 28th and 29th that you don't want to miss!

Three Rockford Truck-or-Treat Events 2023

• Kick off your trunk-or-treat weekend on Saturday, October 28 at the Rockford Public Library's East Branch. This is their 3rd Annual Truck-or Treat from 11 am until 12:30pm. This is an outdoor event, the library encourages you to dress for the weather!
• When you're done there, grab some lunch and then head to Brooke Road United Methodist Church at 3pm. Their trunk-or-treat goes until 5pm at 1404 Brooke Rd in Rockford. The team behind this event is hosting games as well as passing out candy.
• You'll probably want to head to bed then... and wake up Sunday for some more trunk-or-treating. Sunday at 1pm, The Pomodoro and Gigi's Playhouse are hosting their annual trunk-or-treat. Not only will there be free trick or treating, but you'll be able to buy baked goods to support Gigi's Playhouse.
