Illinois Company Recalls More Than 12,000 Pounds Of Bacon
A company based in Lisle, Illinois, is recalling more than 12,000 pounds of bacon.
Maple Leaf Foods made the recall, and according to the USDA, the bacon was brought in from Canada without the required U.S. import reinspection.

Major Bacon Recall: Illinois-Based Company Pulls Over 12,000 Pounds
The products in question are the Royale Natural Applewood Smoked All Natural Uncured Bacon with sell-by dates of September 1 and 7 of 2026. There's also the Top Valu Uncured Hardwood Smoked Bacon with sell-by dates of September 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 of 2026.
If the names of those bacon products aren't familiar to you as an Illinois resident, there's a reason.

Where Was the Recalled Bacon Sold? What Illinois Shoppers Need to Know
While the bacon is from a company based in Illinois, we can rest easy here as the stuff was distributed out of state to Grocery Outlet stores in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.
The real good news is that there have been no illnesses reported as of right now, but on the off chance you may have run into some while shopping out of state, the USDA is saying to pitch the bacon out or return it because there is some concern it could be sitting in someone's refrigerator or freezer.
It's just another day and yet another recall, and while it might not affect Illinois directly, it's another reminder to stay in the loop when it comes to food recalls; it seems they happen daily.
